Hockey has always been about community, teamwork, and showing up for one another, values that extend far beyond the rink. That’s why being part of the Play for A Cure is so meaningful to me. It’s an opportunity to take a sport I love and use it to support something far bigger than the game itself. Like so many people, cancer has touched my life through friends, family, and people in our community. Seeing the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis reminds you how important it is to support the organizations and research working toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. Events like Play for A Cure bring people together to raise awareness and funds while reminding those battling cancer they’re not alone. For me, this tournament is about more than hockey, it’s about supporting those fighting cancer, honoring those we’ve lost, and helping move the fight for a cure forward.
