When I was presented with the opportunity to play hockey to help raise money for cancer research, I was all too willing, even if it meant playing defense when I have been a goalie for almost 20 years. Cancer has personally impacted my life more times than I care to remember. I love many survivors and treasure the memories of many who lost their fight. Hockey players are often thought of as tough people but those who have fought cancer are way tougher. I am playing in this tournament in memory of those I know who have been impacted by cancer, in the hopes that one day, there will be a cure.
